The manga literally said that he's a shadow of his former self, and you visually see it by how out of shape he is. Don't blame the manga for your speed reading.
 
I love revenge stories. That fatass probably got stronger by killing his fellow soldiers and let himself go when he got power
 
Huh. Tbh I was expecting her to get caught or for some other complication to arise. I guess I rarely see infiltration missions go this well

what I expect from a seasoned soldier is vigilance but his security details seemed so lax.

The queen of England in the modern era only has four guards. Guards are expensive, and this dude is probably paying them out of pocket. Most people just don't walk around honestly expecting to be assassinated by a ninja.
