As you go up the food chain in the demon organization, they get worse. Even the idiot that wants to overthrow Jahy is competent enough to have spare money.
@broadsword80 I'm more shocked the prince didn't just stay with her in the protective bubble. A sense of duty is good, but he is being stabbed in the back by his own father. The only people he should feel a sense of responsibility to are the peasants in the country and his underlings...
You know, that is a legitimate question. They all knew it was a bad idea for her to be there, and getting overly stressed out can cause weird things to happen to the body. They should have just gone with the excuse.
So, the guy's goal is to live a relaxed life without dealing with the demon lord, specifically because that is a job that is shit. Seems pretty obvious that she threw the demon lord to him, maybe with help from the sub demon faction, to facilitate the goal of living a peaceful relaxed life...
"Honeyed words?" Tanuki and kitsune are rivals. Normally, I don't think saying "I'd like to fall in love with your enemy" is a good pick up line for anyone who isn't of a particularly damaged mindset. She seems sweet, but it is also a case where it is way late for her to even have a chance. So why?
@Svelandria She notes his attitude toward her changed. He definitely pulled back on the "tough love" route because he realized that wasn't winning him anything but animosity. He screwed up the romantic atmosphere with the dance, though. Almost had a thing going there. Combine that with...
@WhimsiCat I get that, but they have been making this character somewhat menacing. It probably will lead into a bit of a gag defeat, like you said, but I doubt the build up with this villain will go completely to waste.
@arpegiuso To be honest, on rereading, I'd rather it be Helga who won, or really any of the other girls. Even Fleur, as shit as she is, can be entertaining. Leo being stuck as very obviously in love, but not admitting it is getting really annoying.
@WhimsiCat The charm is definitely going to fail or fall off on someone. There is no way the mangaka is going to have them completely no sell the brainwashing character. Then again, they are completely no selling everyone so far in this conflict.
@supermoonchrome Be bold, be bold, be not to bold. There is definitely a point where women reject, but don't mean it, while at other points they do mean it. Still always amusing when it backfires.
She was more interesting, yes, but she did get at least one village raped and murdered for her love of undead. There are better places to find corpses. Like tailing adventurers, perhaps?
@MCX01 Didn't they establish earlier that her magic caused blood vessels to glow? In any case, this is the standard "we need to make the characters in this world into look like idiots" trope for the isekai MC to look better. I kind of wish they didn't go down this route, as magic is a...
