@johnpoop2529 The romance is happening slowly in it's own time. Why do you think the author has reunited them??? :/ If you want romance, this isn't the story for you as the MC has more important things to worry about.

I'm suspecting the old man is a demonic method cultivator...and his is done by making people take those pills...then taking out their energy-enriched "heart vein" when they're ripe for the plucking.
