@parkourse It's not a deus ex machina. The same thing happened in the Russia chapters when they saw Sveta's past. That flashback chapter was something that both Spirits and Shy were experiencing not just the reader. It also (as the art shows) happened at the very beginning of the series when Shy...
@Grimmycoffee I'm assuming Baltzar because he was the one who decimated his cavalry and embarassed him and it's probably more feasible than assassinating the king. I'm going to guess that he'll bust in on this fracas and either Jurij or Timo will have a come to Jesus moment and wind up giving...
This just shows that Naoko has never killed anyone who didn't deserve it. Amazon deliveryman? Probably a pedophile. Cops? Possibly complicit in the mayor's corruption. Doctors and nurses? Malpractice galore. Teacher? Likely abused students in the name of "discipline". Cab driver? Willing to...
So the situation Baltzar's talking about in the flashback would be something like this series' version of the Schleswig-Holstein constitutional crisis huh? It's always neat seeing what real world equivalent events the author draws from. They really do seem to like this time period.
@ringkun The chapters come from the LINE manga version I assume which likely means that the tankobon chapters are two of the LINE chapters combined. Like 44 and 45 read like two halves of one chapter.
@spons Well there's probably still a very slim chance it won't end up as a romance but I already had those vibes and this chapter really smacked you in the face with it. IMO there's something kind of offputting to me about the MC's best friend (seemingly) killing herself after she rejects her...
It depends on what, if any, differences there are between the magazine and tankobon raws I would assume. With Insomnia for example it's understandable that they do it the way they do because there's generally a lot of art improvements including some things being completely redrawn or characters...
@eviljackspicer Mods thought a description for a one shot contained a spoiler and so edited the description. He got mad, changed it back and threatened to remove everything if they touched it again. They did and it turned out he wasn't bluffing.
Thanks boss. Real shame regarding what happened with the original translator but hey at least you're doing two of my favorites now between this and Insomnia.
@Brandon-richard She did it because she has no confidence and thought that creating a situation like that would mean needing her help and keep them together because she doesn't feel that anyone could truly love or want to be around a "monster" like her (due to her disfigurement). Kind of sadly...
Honestly he has been treating Morii kind of like shit pretty much ignoring her unless he needs her help with something and now saying their relationship is "nothing" and being completely oblivious to the fact she likes him. It's kind of frustrating how in some aspect the MC is actually pretty...
I think it's just the result of Suu-chan being a much more dynamic character. Kiyo is what she is: she's a stable rock who isn't phased by much doing something she enjoys with relatively little drama. Suu-chan, in comparison, is much more high strung and has more going on which probably makes it...
