I really love how Lalo just pushes back on Baku. You can really feel the hatred between them. Great character.
"The match ends when one person drowns and dies" is definitely defined for a reason, will almost certainly come up in some way

@Solano
I agree. Re-read chapter 404. Lalo didn't lose his mind, he simply reassessed his strategy immediately and understood the best way to win was to completely fuck the island and either try and change the system or force Baku into a stalemate. He led the referees to him (Nanpou...
Most human I think we've ever seen Baku there. This arc has been awesome for seeing different sides of him.
I'm glad that Lalo has lived up to all hype from Ideal. I didn't think anyone could be more dangerous than Caracal, but Lalo is really on final boss tier. Feels like a great payoff for a...
@Veshv
That's what I mean about it being a stalemate. I figure that Lalo is hoping to force Baku's hand by making it so neither of them can win. Lalo is already losing, short of Fukurou being able to change the game system, I figure that his backup plan is to just make both of them lose (or at...
Well, if Cameo is right and Lalo has Ryuusei's vest too, they're already in a stalemate; there's no way for Baku to become the Kaiser in one day. If Lalo just had Arata's, Baku could still get lucky and not have Arata become a king during the allocation. With Ryuusei's vest captured, at least...
Sad end for Long. A character on the level of Tatsuki and Kyara, after a pretty awesome fight with Yakou, getting beaten down by nameless mooks and left to die, and oneshotted by his former lover. I feel a little unsatisfied with his ending considering he was able to beat Amen and Ikon and...
I believe the number of referees on the island is fixed regardless of if the referees there die or not. It seems like there were 8 designated player follower referees like Kadokura, plus 3-4 roaming referees like Amen (who took over following Lalo when Nanpou died). Taka killed the frog-faced...
I really appreciate this arc for finally letting us into Baku's head. We're usually in Kaji and Marco's so its nice to see that human things and fears do weigh on Baku as well. Cool visual update for Mekama and Sadakuni too.
Nowa Jr said "father-in-law"...so Nowa actually had a daughter I...
The Protoporos arc has been a little bit different to be fair. A lot of the gambles we've seen thus far have mindgames and stories being told that occasionally get put to the side to show big fight scenes (like Hangman, the Tower arc). Protoporos is a lot of smaller, shorter gambles that have...
The ear wax line is fairly straightforward. By the time you feel your ears are blocked with wax, its too late to do anything about it, your ears are blocked. For Bai Long, its just a way to say this victims are already dead if they see him. RIP Ikon, looks like we'll get to see Yakou vs another...
I think the reason most people (or at least me) brushed off Nanpou getting shot was Nowa came in very soon after, and it was a rather unceremonious execution for a character we've been following for a while. Compare it to how Kadokura "died" fighting Minowa and it seems much less dramatic.
This definitely seems like confirmation that Kadokura is Kaji's exclusive referee
I feel like I tried to figure out how the Exclusive Ref rules worked multiple times and at some point finally realized I never understood exactly how it worked at all
Good to see Yakou kicking ass again

I guess I was wrong, Kaji must have "gambled" with Nobuko. But it was...
This shit is awesome
Nowa finally shows why he's #1 and "God" descends onto the island. Reminds me of people calling Light "God" in Death Note.
I've said it before, but early on I was kind of put off from the action sequences taking away from the mindgame gambles, but now I'm really into it...
