I agree with the idea mentioned below that Lunge isn’t a bad detective per se, it’s just that his solitary nature/lack of teammates has slowed him down in this case. Whereas Tenma, whilst clearly not at the same level as Lunge, has had the support of others to help him.

People who critique Eva by calling her a lady of the streets (etc) don’t seem to realise that Eva may be flawed, but she is human. She has lived a life of wealth and greed supplied to her by her father and not from her own merit. She does not fully understand what “love” and affection truly...
