What's the logic for the parents getting rid of the other kid? I imagine their food bill just went down.. Were they leaving with their daughter and didn't want her to come with?

If you're gonna defend the humans with "of course they would kill the monsters", then Kumoko has done nothing objectionable as a monster in her territory. Monsters kill humans.
Regarding which will is the "real" one. You can also look back to when they all combined. Information in charge was the leader in that situation as well.
I guess she doesn't get to pick the hero? Seems like she is getting some sort of future information. Or they are just used to heroes doing this afterward in this setting.
