what is your best experience/read on this site and why

This is one of the few websites I use with regularly active recs where people don't just answer with the same 20 Flavors of the Month series everyone's already heard of. The individual series discussion isn't all that great, but at least it feels like people here actually read a lot of different...

Legacy reader is officially retired from today.

The OG reader blew ass anyway, and was a big reason I went all in in on just downloading my chapters early on. I'm comfortable with my current setup, but I'm happy to hear if more of the fat can be trimmed this way. Although if so few users were using it anyway I can't imagine it's really all...

    Magical realism manga recs

I always have trouble separating between Magical Realism, Surreal series with a relaxed tone/present-day setting (Shimeji Simulation, Dainana Joshikai Hokou) and otherwise realistic series with a surreal style (Oyasumi Punpun). Hopefully these fit the bill for you. SoreMachi - Often lapses...

Recommend COMPLETED manga to save for the apocalypse.

Any time is a good excuse to hoard. Here's a big dump for some finished series I'd recommend saving for posterity: - Akumetsu - Alice from Hell - Alice in Borderland - Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou - Franken Fran - Freesia - Fujiyama-san wa Shinsuki - Jitsu wa Watashi wa - Kasane - Keyman the...

    Hyakumanjou Labyrinth

A bit rushed at times, could have probably done with an extra volume or two. Still, the premise and "glitch mechanics" were pretty creative, and the ending's fittingly unusual. Glad to have finally seen this series' conclusion after 6+ years.

looking for good slice of life mangas

@schlo I haven't yet. Might give it a chance some day for the soothing sound of Omigawa Chiaki's voice and as an excuse to listen to the OP.

looking for good slice of life mangas

The following are all SoL comedies in a similar vein as the orange gremlin's manga: Fantasy roommates going through life: - Jahy-sama - Depression and Succubus - Naughty Succubus Saki-chan - Usagi Moku Shachiku-ka Regular (sort of), present-day people doing regular (sort of), present-day...

    Dreamy Manga?

Ano Ko no Ie. For some reason I kept mistaking this work for one of panpanya's, even if the artstyle looks nothing like it. It does closely share that dreamy and detached tone, though. Dainana Joshikai Hokou and Babel no Toshokan. Tsubana has a similar "everyday surreal" tone to her manga. These...

    Gore manga?

Franken Fran is all-around great. trash. is like its namesake, but it's fun. Probably more what you're looking for. Seconding Misu Misou should go without saying.

Recommended adventure or Slice of live manga

I've recently finished Rojica to Rakkasei, and it's seriously good. A bit Moomin in style on the surface. Big recommend for a slightly more ambiguous SoL. For stuff that's more in the vein of your local Pandaphile's manga instead: - Uramichi Oniisan - Hyakunichikan - My Roomate is a Cat -...

Any manga that left you empty after reading

Soremachi did for me. The loli tag is used pretty arbitrarily. Don't really rely on it.

    Rojica to Rakkasei

I love these sorts of whimsical stories with a bit of a dark undertone to them. Punpun and Peanut are a very cute little family.

What are some of the worst/weirdest manga that you've read?

I remember really hating Saitama Chainsaw Girl when I first read it. Nowadays though I think it might be much more up my alley. This one and that one are pretty crazy too, in a similar vein. They're all a lot of fun. If you're looking for more artsy/surreal weirdness instead, you might be...

Very nice. Have you checked out Koyama Shigeru's "spin-off" on Danbooru already? Manga-wise, there's stuff like Hanamaru Kindergarten Chichi to Hige Gorilla to Watashi Gakuen Babysitters Hyakunichikan Yotsuba&

    Kasane

This was really good. Went in not really sure what to expect, but I was really hooked start to finish. Very dramatic, but that's theater kids for you.
