@coldb7 Indeed that would be a normal reaction but given that this is a manga, I just forgo common sense. It's always either a woman doing something stupid and then blaming an MC that had no control over the event or an MC doing something obviously wrong and somehow nobody finding it strange...

Really hope this won't turn into a never-ending trampling of overly haughty antagonists. It feels more lighthearted that other stories of the same genre.

Well, the thing is that they already said that some people escaped so that's not completely dealt with. I'm guessing that the fleeing infected will infect a ring of towns around the first town (I guess it's more of an arc since they are next to the sea) and maybe there will be a second ring...
