@ScarletLouse It was printed in a josei magazine. Josei/seinen/shounen/shoujo are always based on the magazine they're printed in, not the genre (romance, action, etc etc).

@Tikibo These are manga magazine contests. They put out an open call for oneshots, and pick the best. Generally it's a brand new author without any other publications -- their "debut work". I like doing debut works :)
