To add to the theory, in the flashback of when Honoka was born on chapter 16, after Sen's mom died, the Company President of Shinecules says he's come to look after Honoka and "this belt" (likely Sen's bank driver). That definitely implies that his Mom was related to heroes in some way at least.

Weird cause how long ago was this? Anyway frost obviously will be with the new blaze until they form puddle of water child.

Strange though, is being a hero hereditary? Does having the powers transfer from parents to their children?

I think there are 2 requirements: aptitude and the driver. Sen happens to have both, driver from his dead mom, and aptitude, possibly hereditary.
