Hes definitely meant to be with Komi (everyone would lose their minds if MC and Komi dont end up together - me included) so every chapter like this that gives more hope to the Gal is likely just setting her up for more pain when she eventually has to bow out and let Komi and Tadano be a couple.
Honestly it sort of feels like her whole romance only exists for the sake of drawing out the Main Romance even more, so the series can last longer - I mean if not for the story focusing on komi vs her, then we'd all be saying the Main couple shouldve confessed to eachother by now

Dont get me wrong, gals are my type and I like her - but you cant throw in a romance rival 3/4s of the way through a slow developing story and expect me to root for her.
Unless the authors planning on a harem ending (and there's no chance in hell that he is) then he really needs to quit playin and let the main couple be together.
