MC is very timid, might be frustrating for some people, but it's totally fine for me. However, I can't say I like the male lead. He's very inconsiderate, insensitive, pushy and rude. Combined with our pitiful and timid MC, what a recipe for disaster. So he sent people to ask her to go to her fief and he didn't even try to understand why his subordinates failed to fetch her? Maybe a little investigation will do? And how many did he accused her of things already? He didn't even try to understand her, or try to ask why she behave like she did. He didn't even have an interest of getting to know her. Did he try to habe a conversation with her? No. He doesn't care. Did he try to look at her properly, and think why is she shivering? Disgusted he said? Ridiculous! After the wedding, and the first time when they met again, the only thing he care about is how she didn't do her nightly duty as his wife. Huh, what a forceful and 'my pace' type of guy. He only cares about his needs for sex and is blind that his wife is scared, anxious, and nervous. Look, the Mc has many problems, but imo the ML has bigger problems. He makes me frustrated a lot I really hope he is growing well throughout the series. If the manhwa adaptation is slightly different than the novel, I hope it will be better. It looks like in the novel the ML didn't get as much development as the MC.

I hope they clear up these misunderstandings quickly. I also think he is hurt and I bet it’s not only about the fief or him thinking that she perceived him as monster. I’d say that communication is not great on both sides.

I think that with him coming in to separate her from her father and his overall presence she’ll be able gain more confidence.

if you haven't read the novel you guys definitely should!!! OAK is probably my favorite novel and i have a feeling the webtoon isn't gonna cover the steamy scenes that are in the novel hehehe

also i hope people don't come to hate the FL. she has been physically AND emotionally abused ALL her life, so it's going to take some time for her to grow as a character as that would be the case in real life

@Moth as others have said, the misunderstandings are frustrating but won’t last forever. It’s a bit unfair to hate Riftan so much now when we’ve only seen Maxi’s side of the story, but yes the beginning is a lot.

If the ML has enough prestige that he is now a Knight of status he also would have heard bout it such prolific abuse. In addition if your going to set your story in the 17th century where woman are//not// even considered people but property and point it out in the story---then the writer is even admitting in their own narration of the society that "a woman is her husband property" .... both the father and husband inhuman abusive garbage.
