Being overpowered just means you're stronger than usual for what you are. It doesn't mean you're a god. So clearly there are things which are still going to be too strong for him to handle and would be instant death. Realistically speaking from their perspective.

He's the main character so we know he'll never die, and at worst he'll suffer a defeat and come back ten times stronger.
