Maybe it’s because it’s been so long since the previous chapter, but this didn’t feel believable to me at all.

Who is this mermaid girl? Why is she suddenly important? Why is she here the exact day her curse victim is here too? Why is she grieving her actions just now and never once before? About the only reaction I bought into was the mother’s; she doesn’t know this girl, so she has no reason to feel any sympathy, and neither do I.

Hopefully the next chapter contextualizes this better.

@Cornonthekopp

well, no, heath was directly attacked by villagers after helping a child and snapped in retaliation when she burned down the village...(as far as I remember at least)

that mermaid not just actively learned a curse but she purposefully used it to specifically attack/curse somebody, while hiding in the back even

Thank you so much for the chapter, healed my heart, can't wait for the next one <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

@KakumeiNoHi I mean, the kid probably wouldn't want the voice anymore, not like she could, but I don't think it should matter too much.

@Alice_is_lost

it's a matters, because even though we all know that the kid will probably 'forgive' etc. this manga, as much as I love it, exists within a world where deliberate/malicious attacks have no consequences whatsoever :/
did that mermaid get bullied afterwards? yes. but she had been bullied before and they continued to bully her, it wasn't sime karma punishment for putting the curse on an unborn child :/

the kid doesn't know what it's like to have a voice to begin with, so how would she actually know about whether or not she would be happier/better off having one or not?

@KakumeiNoHi I just said It doesn't matter in this situation because it's a question of whether the kid is happy now.
You can't think too much about the "what if's" because then you'll get upset over something that isn't even a thing.
Yeah the mermaid took her voice but it's not like she can have her voice back, so she shouldn't think about having a voice because she can't have it either way.

When it comes to punishment I don't feel like someone other than the kid has the right to punish the mermaid, because the voice was hers.
But that's just my opinion, I get what you said.

Thanks for the chapter!
All I have to say is she is a good and wholesome kid. Everything she does makes my heart warm.
