Is it just me, or does it just not feel as epic anymore? Something about this arc just doesn't really hit the feels or anything.

what a garbage is that translation of Mangaplus... due to to this translation reading of One Piece chapters feels mediocre and mundane, as reading a mediore bullshit isekai manga.... Did anyone notice how was written the initial "D."?

Just for the record, the chapter made me shed tears.
Yes, I'm just a sucker for this kind of stuff.

@Peter_5 I think the "Deee" was meant to be translated like that. Otherwise I dont have any problems with it and all.

Btw can Ruffy really be that badass again and again?

it is always "D.", as initial. https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Will_of_D. The word "dee" is just letter name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_alphabet#Letter_names Even the Viz media use "D".

And by the way, thought the letters L and R are somewhat matching to the japanese vowel, the correct name is Luffy, Oda himself stated it- https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Monkey_D._Luffy/Misc. (see Translation and Dub issues). It is pure coincidence with the word "luff" https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/luff . (like Zoro - Zolo). @ Dragou

It is a hypocrity that the official translator (Mangaplus, Viz) make takedown notices, when they actually are destroying Oda's original meaning in dialogues/words; and the fanbase scanlaton like Jaimini/Mangastream kept original words meaning in their translation.

Yamato said D. It is just Momo who don't really know how to read/spell it so he says Dee just from hearing the word.

I will never forgive mangaplus for ruining the double pages on longstrip mode, but cheers for 1000 chapter it has been a wild journey

Did Luffy just use Gear 2 and Gear 3 simultaneously? I can't remember if that was always part of his arsenal or not

@Peter_5
How brave of you to comment on the translation when you can barely speak english yourself.

Momo's saying "Dee" because he's unfamiliar with the concept and sounding it out to himself as most people do when they're introduced to a new word.

Dear Grandkids if you are seeing this message I have indeed read 1000 chapters of One Piece and do not regret it at all. Only 1000 to go.

To be honest, I was expecting more from the 100th issue. Like, finally, the revelation of what the D actually means. I really thought that’s where the chapter was going but, alas, not yet.
Either way, Luffy had one epic moment there.
Now it’s the three toughest bad generation pirates against two Yonkos... Let the real battle begin!

@Muja yeah, colored pages... Double chapter... A revelation of shorts, but it's the usual "I'm gonna be the pirate king!" thing that he has said like 10 or more times already in each arc so I'm like "alright..."

If people don't feel this arc is epic is most likely the samurai's fault taking most of the focus... Let's be frank here, they're not epic at all, most of them aren't funny, they're ugly as sin and after so many years they look even worse, old and depressing, they took MONTHS to reunite their forces and finally go to the grand battle (for 3 arcs in 2 isles!!) and ... They were ALL defeated! OFF SCREEN and cried and I don't give a damn to be honest, even their captain, Kin'emon, he has no skill, no charisma, he's not strong and doesn't even has history ... "his" history is just to be a witness of someone's else greater than him and most of his deeds has been done by pure luck or thanks to Luffy and his crew, so now he's crying and leaving all the work to Luffy and the others, to be honest, I'm almost glad! I hope they stay down because they've been dragging this for far too long.

Amazing chapter. Only Luffy would have the balls to casually stroll between 2 Yonkou like that to go check on someone. Kinemon's words hit me right in the feels. The real shocker is how visible shaken Kaido looks on the last page. He definitely felt that punch!
