Good thing Tokitou showed up when he did. I don't know if I was prepared for Tanjiro to talk about sad shit.

My son, you're now a man and have to make a choice.

You'd want a story about ancestry and passing on your thoughts and will so that even if you die, they shall live, or...

...Inexplicable, irrealistic and pointless reincarnation?

The main point of this chapter is the crows fighting behind the scenes..
This Mist Pillar is strong, man. He looked weak from his appearance.

Striking the last sentence after the following chapter, as Kotetsu revealed something the Mist Pillar doesn't know.
So, he still looks weak to me, right now at least. Even though he's supposed to be the genius who became a Pillar just 2 months after touching a katana..

is Tanjiro reincarnated? ... or maybe it runs in his blood, the history of his family? -thinks-?
Well, they've just established that this smith kid has heard stories of memories being passed down. On top of that, every character death seems to have some pretty big afterlife implications tied to it. It there's an afterlife, there may or may not also be reincarnation. There's no other hints towards the possibility of reincarnation other than this memory business that is already possibly explained by the other thing.

Tanjiro said he felt no malice or ill intent from the Mist Pillar's actions. So it makes me wonder what goes through his head....
