Fuck, I just realized who Chou San is. For anyone else confused, it's that old detective who was uncovering the Friend cult's actions a week before his retirement. He was always late to his daughters' life moments, but she gave him a chance for redemption on his grandson's birthday. The detective was killed that day by the virus given to him by his successor who was a Friend cult member.
