24-ku no Hanako-san

This manga is essentially a rip off of Stalker. Or "heavily inspired by Stalker" if that ticks you off. The movie's a masterpiece, but one gotta be really mature to enjoy its slow pace, hidden details and spiritual themes. This manga is already much more adventurous and has the typical teen sexual tension in it. I don't like it too much because the "anything goes" setting makes everything cool just imaginary and meaningless.

Basically "Yoshitomi Akihito does the Strugatskys' Roadside Picnic (AKA Stalker)" which already sounds like a worthwhile read.

Janie's got a gun
Janie's got a gun
Her dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run
Tell me now it's untrue
What did her daddy do?

It's a lot like Chikyuu no Houkago. I'm sure the important things will be revealed near the end and it will involve higher mathematics presented with a hint of charm. I'm just rolling with this right now.

Also, I like the art style.
