Quick question. Many of these isekai series are created based on wish fulfillment: the conscious or unconscious desire to live a slow life, unfettered by governmental or societal norms, getting revenge on the kids who talked behind his back in high school, etc etc.

If that’s the case here, does that mean the author wants to have a girl date rape him to force him to take responsibility for her?

Dunno why but I prefer the LN version instead of its manga.
In novel, Marl was depicted as a slightly mischievous girl. When she tried to ensnare Taiichi, albeit not-so-desperate, it was done out of necessity and she fully trust her personal judgement.

All I get from this chapter was she just… well, desire him.

tl;dr:
The novel version depicted both of them as adults while in this one they look like a comedic highschooler duo.

Marl was in a pinch because someone was aiming for her to be his wife. As a princess, her royal obligation forced her to complied with that demand as it would have less risk considering the other party. But Marl was a free spirit, and so she tried to find a candidate to be her one-and-only husband, get laid (aka lose her virginity so she won't be betrothed to the other guy), and devotes herself to her husband.

Marl has a special ability (almost intuition-like) to find the thing she wants to find (or at least the clues that will bring her to her target), and her ability brought her to MC.
