Urgh every time I experience scenes like that in public transport I feel like screaming (strangers fighting over NOTHING). Last time I told the louder (and older) one off, didn't help much since the younger one wouldn't stop bickering too.

I guess people act this way just to feel closer and more important to each other for a few minutes.

The older woman is such a bitch, she clearly just wanted to pick a fight with someone.
Especially for such a small tap, how does she get through life everyday if something like that is a reason to make a big scene?
