34-sai Mushoku-san - Vol. 8 Ch. 100 - The end

Eh? What? Where did she go? Did she move back to her parent's house? I'm glad she found her place and rejoined society but that was so fast!

Thanks for the massive updates this past week and for finishing this great manga. Wish there was a little more epilogue, but its still a very nice story

i guess she go back living with the parent then still wonder why did she broke up with her ex did she hit her daughter or something

My theory on what happened with them: she and her ex either fell out of love or didn't really love each other. The husband is a workaholic (according to her) and probably left taking care of the household to her. On top of that, her MIL is probably overbearing and criticized her often. She lives close by too so she probably visits often, not giving her privacy. Likely the stress from all of it caused her to be less patient with her child, and when she almost hit her daughter out of anger, she realized this isn't working out anymore and filed for divorce.

The daughter is still seeking attention from her mom. She knows her mom has anger issues but she probably never hit her as she doesn't fear her.

Thank you for your hard work! I have a few issues with how rushed the last two chapters feel but this has still been a sweet, easy going manga.

thank you for your hard work, finally something happens in this manga in the end.

A bit unexplained ending, but I guess makes sense judging by flow of the manga.
Thank you for translation!

wait, what? what's up? what's up with the daughter? where did the protagonist go? I have no clue about what happened in this ending.

@lightingcloud @Sem

She lost her job at the bookstore as the company bankrupt. She quickly called her friend who offered her the job she was leaving to accept the offer. She initially refused it thinking she can just live with the bookstore job. Thus she took the next step to a better future and moved out of her 'castle'.

The fact that her daughter came to visit her at her old home means that she did not contact her family after that. She probably decided to move on with her life.

@saudagarbeta something went down with the ex-husband in the restaurant/birthday chapter, but I'm not entirely sure what. Did she just give up on the daughter completely?

End of the series dance - CHA!

When the first tanslator stopped working on this after only 7 chapters of the first volume I feared that this would never be finished.
Not only am I gratefull to the current translator for picking this up as well as finishing it, but for doing this in an almost insanely fast pace - nearly a volume a week in some cases.

@BCS

I believe she bowed to her husband as gratitude, because she decided to leave the care of her daughter entirely up to him and move on.

Also, if you read the conversation after the birthday party between her Mother-in-law and her husband about 'her decision', it seems the birthday is probably the last time she will see her daughter.

Previously, she was always reluctant to talk to her daughter, and she actually hardly interacted with her daughter other than the monthly meetings. Even buying the large teddy for her made her feel as though she was intruding into her life, as though she already decided she wouldn't do it.

The fact that her daughter came looking for her, meaning she didn't meet her after she moved and didn't inform them that she moved away. Looks like she moved on for good.

I liked the sometimes very subtle story telling and how relaxed the series was. Very human characters. I didn't think I'd like this as much as I did. Very solid 8/10.

She didn’t give up her daughter. In the last chapter, it’s actually a large time skip. Her daughter was in grade 2 but now she’s older and has a smartphone. The old lady was commenting that the daughter would often skip school to see her mother. It’s just down the line, the mom most likely reentered society fully and moved elsewhere.

I wish the translation was better to accurately understand what's being implied sometimes, but I'm glad this rather unique story got translated at all.
