Kiriha If it's PSO2 style, where there's only job lvl, I don't think restarting the game each time you advance your class is a fun experience.
I mean, MC still struggles against low-level monster even though he has high-rank job, so the assumption is that this would happen on everyone that changes their job into high-level one.
I guess you can power level your new job by using your old job as sub-class, but dunno. It depends on whether there's any penalty on the sub-class job.
If it's old RO style, since MC managed to level his job adequately, (he already get some paladin's skill) the xp rate for the job is scaled based on char level, or generally high in general.
If it's scaled based on level, there's a real advantage of getting a high-rank job when your char level is still low. MC might even break through the level ceiling for Paladin's job and get some secret skill that other player might never see since they reached char level cap before that happens.
It also discourages job changing since for every level you spent on other job, that's a level of high-rank job you wasted.
If it's the second and high-rank job still gets adequate xp even from killing goblin, I don't see any reason why a high-level player won't take every job ever, power level it based only on their char level, and get all the useful skill in the pool.
I mean, MC just goes from Jobless into high-rank job, so I'm assuming that there's no real restriction of job changing from say, Archer to Mage. So why not take everything and take it to adequate level?
I guess that depends on the penalty of job changing, and whether there's an existence of sub-job, and how sub-job would benefits you.
This one provides an interesting meta and gives super high versatility for players though, since a high-level DPS can also be a mid-level support if needed, and a magic swordsman can be a pure physical swordsman the very next day, so I hope it's this one.
