demons in the story dont die when they get the head cut off. the reason that they die when they get the head cut off is because of demon hunter's blade are special....

@thedeath nah the demons will die when their head got chopped or exposed to sunlight

some demons especially moon class can escape those because of their powers

and nichirin or the blades is only used because it can penetrate demon's tough skin

@Hadski I am sure that isnt true... no demon ever die when they got their head cut off in the manga before [beside from the nichirin blade of course]

lets see
1. the first demon got their head kicked off by the sister, he did die
2. the spider demon that about to get the head cut off then cut his own head first didnt die
3. there were part that Nezuko foght with Daki and Daki said that she will wait for the sunlight to kill Nezuko and that because demon cant kill each other by just cutting the head off

and also many many times that demons got the head crushed in this manga and they never die


you can not kill demons with normal blades

From the spider demon i think it is because he cut his own head with his power that he didn't die

Demons still can use their body even if their head got cut off doing so and immediately attaching it back canceling the "death"

And for daki's case it's because she doesn't want to fight nezuko because she found nezuko's regeneration annoying hence waiting for sunlight to kill her later (that's my pov)

and yes crushing their head won't guarantee their death but sunlight does

+ urodotaki ? (Tanjirou 1st master) said that "you can't wound the demon with normal blade" even though they can like muichirou's past he did wound the demon until it was immobilized and by the gods that demon's fate is sealed by sunlight same with the 1st demon tanjirou fight before encountering his master

Such wound will heal in no time unless they are completely separated the body and the head and ofc they need nichirin aka the only working blade to do it

and yes normal blade can cut demons, you just have to be good..... just 2 chapter earlier Muichiro killed a demon with out nichirin blade [ of course it died because of sunlight. but the demon body were full of wounds]
