Yeah, I agree on both fronts. But the fact Nie Lie will forgive her doesn't mean readers must do the same.

About the fact that Ziyun is little more than a child, well, from our POV it's true; but in this setting, children are supposed to grow faster, since, like in our world not too much years ago, they have reponsibilities and they enter society sooner than us. So it is an excuse not completely valid, in my opinion.

If a girl I loved said something like this to me, I'd probably go into "ok-as-in-Saitama-at-Boros'-ship-ok" mode and do whatever I was going to do anyway but remove her from any relationship-related plans. No wait, a girl that I loved did say something with a same intended meaning/message (though not reasons, that'd require another girl loving me which is statistically closer to BIG NOPE ) and went with "Ok, so?" response. Those few lines of text here fucking hurt me.

I mean for a start she doesn't actually want to do it, right? If the girl I loved came up to me and does the equivalent of a "shoo the dog" because she thinks its whats best for me, even though it makes her sad, I'd take what she's secretly worried about seriously if she's going this far. But I wouldn't get mad at her, I'd want to help her.

The capacity for self sacrifice isn't a bad trait, it's a good one.
