The implications are pretty disturbing. The girl was willing to chain him to her using magic for years and years and then again using a love potion. Neither worked and she caved in the end, but that she's capable of such manipulation is sociopath levels of disturbing. That the boy knew and was enabling her the whole time is really twisted too. Then again I should probably just turn my brain off when reading shoujo.
