I didn't think about that ! Quite possible !
For me it was more that he can't move due to the recent healing (you don't escape a deadly virus + injuries without consequences), and the big explosion was Hatsumi "step" (but it might be a bit too much yeah).

The spot where Bando hit is outside of reach for normal human's arms (or even legs). And the way Sen circling around him is likely to gauge his "whip" strike range. Given Bando's strength, Sen will be floor stain with just one hit, hence his profusely sweating.
