"I don't understand why a child that has already established to be more mature, responsible, and more un-childlike for her age, for no reason nor persuasion suddenly act like a child her age"
I mean, kids nowadays when they bring their favorite toys to an occasion like shopping, is because they plan to somehow play with it. And i just can't wrap around my head that a kid as no-nonsense as Nacchi actually intend to do so while Komi is busy shopping.
The writing is all over-the-place for this chapter.
But I get it: she has the communication disorder in the beginning, and she doesn't want to get attached because she knows she will be leaving them too after a while.
Lots of people here need to read the introduction chapters again, and the very first page of this chapter, slowly. It's amazing how many people missed what caused the reaction.
Nobody’s missing anything. A few people, myself included, enjoy the humor and cute moments more than forced drama, which is what this is. If you like this, fine. It’s just not good in my opinion.
@IsaacJan Forced would give the implication that there wasn't any form of buildup to it, or hints at something more, which there were plenty of. From the start, her "mature" attitude was nothing more than a mask she's pulling in order to appear satisfied, and make them think she may not be interested in playing, so others don't bother getting close to her, then you see her crying for her mother, because she's now alone, in a place with new people she doesn't want to get infatuated with. And then this chapter further explained it, and made it very clear, she fears loss, to the point it's a disorder for her and she dislikes communication and interaction.
Lots of people did miss out on the context, you can see plenty asking about it. Plus, I wouldn't fear for loss of cute, and humor, we even got plenty this chapter, next one will most likely be some healing, and helping her get over her issue.
"I don't understand why a child who's clearly only putting on a mature-looking front due to reasons already stated in this thread and would normally be at the maturity level of a child is acting like a child her age." is what you mean, I think.
