Some of you guys are being really overly harsh here, the guy just woke up sore and beaten and it's asking him to do a range of exercises that I wouldn't even be able to do half of in a day even in peak condition.

Plus, "punishment" is very vague. My first guess was that he'd get an electric shock for ignoring a simple daily quest, not "dumped into a wasteland and told to survive for 4 hours vs a giant mutant centipede."

If you think about it logically, he's desperate to save money to shoulder the mother's hospital bill and the little sister's school fees. This situation might have continued for a long time already.
