The term Lilia uses in the raws is 旦那様, which typically refers to the master of the house but can also mean husband. It's probably just a minor mistranslation if the TL's not aware of the specific relationship that Paul has with Lilia

I wish there was a way to make the situation seem more serious, because in the novels the way it was written made it seem like it went slower or maybe because it was explained more.
