I guess we can presume Orsted healed Rudeus because so far Rudeus is the only lead to Hitogami. Rudeus is weak from Orsted's point of view, so Rudeus himself wouldn't be any great danger. That's why leaving Rudeus alive might grant Orsted a chance to track down Hitogami himself. Killing Rudeus could be a small inconvenience to Hitogami's plans, but on the other hand it would send Orsted back to square one.

Hitogami can only have 3 “apostles” at a time. Leaving Rudeus alive means Orsted knows the name of one of Hitogami’s pawns. Admittedly, Orsted was acting a little irrationally, but he’s in a position where he can make as many mistakes as he likes.

Orsted has near unlimited retries, and has been reliving the same timeline repeatedly until he destroys Hitogami. It’s like extreme Re:Zero, only he has no save points. That’s how he knows everyone except Rudeus. He’s met everyone through endless failure and recursion.
