@MisterXiado well tbh my dreams after winning the lottery are aimed MUCH higher than a modest life, but unlike the idiots who spend all the money on luxuries and crazy parties, i know that life is full of shit and bad things happen constantly. Why would i want to have all that expensive shit just to end up losing my money to some bullshit life throws at me and then be in extreme debt from trying to maintain an upkeep i used to be able to but now can't?

tldr; A modest life IS SMART, a luxury life IS A LIABILITY WAITING TO HAPPEN.

If you're poor and lose everything, you have either a miserable and drawn-out death awaiting you, or you get to waste a large portion of your life clawing your way back up to where most people were the day they walked out of high school, but without the abundant youth and health to support you.
