@WhimsiCat Sure, but what can you do about it? "Calm beauty" doesn't convey nearly the same image as "cool beauty". "Composed beauty"... That's a bit unwieldy. "Cold beauty" sounds like a beautiful person with a nasty personality. The difference between "cold" and "cool" is understandable because "cool" refers to a pleasantly lower temperature, not something that can be uncomfortable like cold temperature.
Well, I'll have to admit I can't argue with you any longer since I don't know the Japanese terms like you do. You have me beaten 10-0 in that respect. I also suspect that's why we disagreed here.
