What a fucking idiot. Just say no and ask if you can leave, no reason to provoke them by telling them their lord is doomed to be defeated, it's not like they'll change their minds.

@Acolytus Think about it. He can rez and never come this far but still know everything they told him. Its not a bad deal and if he continues he may get save locked again. Returning after his death is acceptable and not dying is just as acceptable.
Why should he be afraid and placate them. He may also have a small grudge because his Mistress died for a lost cause.

@EphiusTD: They are clearly stronger than the MC and Rena. It's just the military would investigate that temple and they might catch up to the plan of summoning the great and powerful PUUUUURSOON. That's troublesome for them.
@Merilirem: Wasn't it that way, that the skeleton is quite careful about his resurrections? As far as I remember he tries to avoid them, as he doesn't now for sure, that they go on limitless. He might get the information edge, if it happens, but it is risky in his eye...holes.
From that perspective I share Acolytus's POV. He needlessly antagonized them. Even a second time, by telling them PUUURRSSSOOOOON won't get his tuna in the end (will lose), even though the first time was so well received by the harpies.

@Qelix Ah yes i guess i have to clarify something i had just assumed we were all thinking. If this gets them to kill him, they were never going to be let leave in the first place. At this point i doubt he actually believes they will just let him go without joining the cult. So his options were always to create aggression with them or die and come back. Him fighting them was a pretty forgone conclusion.
How many of these have you been to? My experience says that they decide if you get to say no LONG before they even invite you there. Do i have to explain why you kill anyone who says no?

@Merilirem: About that "They decide if you're allowed to leave without joining is an option before they invite you" argument, I can't argue with that. I myself thought, that this will end in bloodshed, when they meet up a group of cultists in the depth of the night at some arena/temple. But they were reasonable and MC tried to sound as diplomatic as possible (and failed HARD at it), so I thought, that he honstly tried to talk his way out there. Of course they can't let them leave, can they? They are a secret cult and their plan hasn't been realised at this point.

In this chapter you will have glimpse how amateur the author is. He want to convey a feeling but poorly executed it. That's why people are confused. And the style of the author is erratic at the moment he/she still cannot grasp what he/she want and need to write. Especially with time rewinding or time travel theme story. If you didn't explore every aspect of the genre the story will be like this story. Which for me is what I was hoping for, that as time goes by the author can grasp his own style for this story.

Of course it's possible he already sensed they weren't going to take No as an answer, so it wouldn't matter how he tried to decline, but in that case the author didn't manage to convey that kind of realisation.

I think those flairs will be useful to them. Seems like a great way to rile up the countries. Just launch one or two in the other's domain.
