so ... chinese feet ... could you have just converted that to something we could understand if you are translating it anyway?>

If you're translating it anyways, might as well make a coffee for @Genoshock. While you're at it, send in a few bucks towards @Genoshock's account, since you're translating it anyways. /s
Seriously dude, for the amount of time this took you to write you could have googled 'chinese feet measure'.

Why does a unit of measurement have the name of a civilization that doesn't exist in that world

Yeah, the "chinese foot" thing was really dumb. I don't really blame the translator since it was probably like that in the raws.

Wouldn't it be better to use "chi" or the word itself and add a footnote or credit note what it means?

It's doubly confusing because Chi is 10/33 in Taiwan, some random shit in HK, and the value has changed multiple times across different dynasties.
Its more an "eyeballing" measurement than anything. Kind of a bit weird for an engineer to be specifying his measurements in it, don't come off as professional.

@criver thank you for letting me know google existed, and i did end up googling but i didnt need a snide remark about googling it ... thank you for wasting my time
