I'd say that for now, he seems to be the most "romantically cautious" with Nino. It doesn't out right mean that he is romantically interested, since we don't know what he's thinking, but compared to the other girls he knows who are in love with him, he's been the most cautious about Nino, thus relies on the book.

But who knows, more is to come.
