the manga's been dropping in quality for a while now, far back as school festival arc, but man has this final volume been trash.

Doesn't matter who Fuu confessed to, any sister with these same post-confession chapters would still be a terrible arc :/ rushed, inconsistent, BS drama, 2 chapter dumb arc for itsuki, 2 chapter arc for dad annnd so on. We get all that nonsense instead of chapters being spent on Fuu actually spending time with Yotsuba to develop their romance as a couple. And then the usual lazy time-skip to try and fix said inconsistencies/problems

Seriously, I don't even feel like I'm reading a romance manga anymore. All those last chapters (even before tbh) felt really off, and now I know why genki girls are not often chosen as the main heroine - there's no chemistry, she still looks like a support character.

1 word that I would describe this is "unnecessary" it said that 5 years have passed, they are all adults and still playing around like this!?
I would have preferred to see an emotional cliché moment that would have been more meaningful. But that's just my opinion

Such a warm and comfy chapter. It reminds me why I came to love 5Toubun, it was not only a harem manga but also a story about family love.

@Blazer168 Yotsuba isn't first girl, Itsuki is but Yotsuba is technically "first girl". First girl is the first girl introduced to the audience, that being Itsuki. And childhood friends rarely, if ever, win. They're mostly always destined to lose and have done.

Granted, this is not very surprising given the foreshadowing preview chapters for the wedding. But I feel there were a few steps and build up that would have fit more in between to really establish or finalize either the five parts of one whole, or interchangeable but still unique. I have no issue with Yotsuba win, but either way the progression from confession to dating to proposal to marriage was nonexistent. That progression would and should have truly developed and expanded upon the five part bride. A confession of love/to date does not a bride make.

This specific chapter was probably planned early on, but editors or fan reaction fucked up the roadmap, ending up with needing to fuck shit up with the pacing and planned/intended arcs.


Edit: Not to mention how rushed and hacky he dropped that fucking huge bomb about Fuut's mom.
