Negi is just a trash-tier writer.
Any ending would have worked as long as it was set up properly, but instead he decided to focus the story on anyone besides the girl who actually won.
Then he went on to spin some retarded drama for a whole volume instead of focusing on the couple.
And then after throughly shitting on the losers he decided it's fine to drag their corpses to the honeymoon because apparently they can't have their own lives anymore. And still no focus on the couple.
The last two volumes have zero thought put behind them.
