I'm thinking the new guy is irrelevant and wouldn't affect the plot. On the other hand, I'm actually very curious about the connection between their dad and fuutarou. There has to be something happened in the past which made him "dislike" fuutarou that much. Or maybe is it just a test? Cuz in the end one of em will marry fuutarou, so it means their dad would acknowledge him. Or maybe he's seeing his past self in fuutarou?
