6-sai no Kenja wa Hikage no Michi wo Ayumitai - Ch. 4 - The King and I

I fucking hate when authors feel the need to make MCs hide how strong they are.
Thanks for the chapter!

At least the King isn't a fucking moron like in most reincarnation/isekai story in which the MC is a hidden hero or whatever.

Free life.. Lol
This self conscious little snot with little ambition.
A tool is a tool, better be the user than a tool fool

@ghostt
I personally think that's acceptable. If it was me, I wouldn't really want to be put on a pedestal either

But what's ridiculous is when they make the MC both extremely OP and and not at the same time.
Like, how does he not have enough magic for two-way teleportation? Assuming his brother is not a sage like him. His mp should be above average at best. If he's capable of using a single teleportation spell, even if it were to use up all of his magic, that'd mean our protagonist should be capable of using this magic multiple times in a row. Not only was his mp already really high in his previous life, but it's even higher now. And it's not like only a few hours have passed since he used up all of his magic either, so he should've recovered his mp too.

@ghostt

I understand his desire, try to consider the burden of everyone demanding your service day in day out. Groups that consider you a threat trying to enslave or murder you or your loved ones. And every bit of suffering being blamed on you because “you weren’t there”.

The only thing that’s stupid here is how much he’s failing to not stand out. He didn’t even disguise himself, doing what your told after school or on holidays is still being told what to do.
Additionally the more he does the more he’ll slip into that role so he’s screwed himself.

@UzunBoyluCuce In chapter 3, you can see that there is a difference between mana and MP(magic power).
MC even says it himself that he doesn't have enough mana for a 2-way teleportation.
While his spells are overpowered due to his magic power, the amount of times he can cast his spells is low.

Im amazed so many people don't understand the meaning of ( "not standing out" ).

@Add1152000 @UzunBoyluCuce @nep It’s one thing to not want to stand out, but by making himself look useless he’s still going to stand out? If he wanted a easy life and to not stand out he should have made himself appear average, then nobody would pay any attention

@ghostt
Maybe the reason he used that bad examination result was because that paper was the only one he could access?
I mean, it's not like he tempered with the magic tool, he just used his brother's results instead

But yeah, getting even more attraction defeats his point

Well it will be more standing out if somehow his power make too many people shocked(and you know as usual op mc doesn't know how restrain), So visiting the king ahead is actually not that bad.

You can see what the king condition and mentality when dealing with the king first(threaten the king is also possible if the king is suck).

Also can make sure you not going to be more standout if your disguise fall apart since you have the king to cover you.
The benefits is good enough to take the risk

But yeah some people really don't understand what not standout means

The best way to keep secret is "do not let other people know about it", the second best way is let those in power keep a secret for you.

MC-kun, it's impossible to "not stand out" when you've got such and annoyingly smug face on you half the time.
