@Kirin-kun You do realize that basically every culture has some form of prostration, right? Not that what those elves were doing was even dogeza in the first place. They were just kneeling and bowing their heads, like literally every culture ever has done to show respect and isn't all that different from what one would do when being knighted in Europe; the women just have both knees down because it'd be immodest to do otherwise in a dress.
@Vincentius I know that they aren't doing dogeza. But the elven women are using a typical Japanese style show of deference: on both knees, with the hands in front, facing down, with just the tip of the fingers touching the ground.

This type of show of respect was never used in Europe. Ever.
