It's very hard to have any sympathy for Igarashi. He's got no one to blame but himself for the situation he found himself in. However...
As much as I have liked Subaru in the past, I cannot condone her actions. I know, I've been wanting another woman to make Chiyo burn with jealousy for a long time so she'll realize what a nice boyfriend Igarashi is, but this is not quite what I was hoping for. Subaru has obviously taken advantage of Igarashi, knowing full well that he already has a girlfriend, and is actively attempting to break them apart.

Frankly, I won't blame Chiyo if she breaks up with Igarashi when she finds out how he spent his birthday. After all, if the tables were turned, would Igarashi ever believe that some dude (like Ookuma, for instance) did not take advantage of her while she was passed out? Would he forgive her for getting drunk out of her mind and then spending the night in a Love Hotel with another man on her birthday while he was away receiving some basketball award?

It also seems that Subaru implied that Igarashi had sex with her though, from personal experience, it would have been nigh on to impossible in his completely inebriated, blacked-out state to perform any sort of dance...

well...the snu snu went away pretty fast, but the funny thing is Subaru is not acting like she does normally, like for example being Mature and all.

and I think she IS making a fool out of Igarashi cause she is probably not the type to lay around that eagerly with anyone, I think she will keep this a secret but will Blackmail Igrashi in the process and get him to do what she wants to do as in any girl without a man would, date her and take her out and all since she finds him interesting .

While this happens Chiyo will get pissed off for sure and Igarashi will obviously start finding this pressure too much for him which will end up breaking them apart.

either way the Author does not have a sense of pace, all of this happened tooo quickly while as the part before him getting drunk took 3 chapters

and to top it off, that Ass of a friend responsible for all of this just became irrelevant in a matter of one chapter, why did he let Subaru take him to a hotel???

To be honest Subaru is doing him a favour even if he doesn't realize it yet. I just can't imagine his relationship with Chiyo succeeding in the long term.

She dumps him and if understood correctly she either got a new boyfriend already or is hot on the prowl to find a new one. While poor Igarashi is dead inside.

I'll agree with Fred on part of it is Igarashi's fault but Subaru and that asshole so called friend should shoulder the rest. Although this is a blessing in disguise because I think Chiyo is still a shrew of a woman who never treated him right and from the way she acted didn't really like him either. He's better off.

And the drama is about to start really hard ¬¬
 
@Comrade-Sandvich I agree with your comment about the pacing. One moment Igarashi is going to the toilet, and the next moment he wakes up in the morning in a Love Hotel, in bed with Subaru? Did she take him there herself? Or did those clowns? What happened from the time he went to the toilet until he woke up?

@nogenem Yes, if it wasn't for the ahole senpai, Igarashi would probably not have ended up in the Love Hotel with Subaru. But, considering the senpai's attitude, Igarashi might equally have ended up with some stray woman, anyways.

At this point, it sure seems that way, to be sure. Most teenagers' first relationships don't last into adulthood, and fewer still get married. At as of Igarashi's birthday, they had been a couple for about a year and a half.

I'm still salty about that time when Igarashi caught Chiyo with Ookuma at 2 am.
 
Yes another forced drama that will not be resolve and just lingering in the background.
 
The only thing Igarashi did wrong was to get drunk in the presence of some serious assholes!! If your friend is drunk you look after them. You don’t allow them to be taken off to a Hotel with some woman if they are in a relationship. Thats a plot point straight out of a rape hentai.

Subaru lost some huge relationship points by doing what she did. Still ... I’m looking forward to the eventual breakup, but it will suck if Igarashi is blamed for it. Chiyo is a massive bitch.

He got drunk on his birthday with his friends, so what? The only one who is at fault now is Subaru (for teasing him, that's all so far). And Chiyo of course. She is always at fault.

I don't know what happens next. Subaru could make everything worse, or she could help, I don't know. In the end, it's always Chiyo's fault, sorry

Aren't we all? There's also the time back at the school festival when she ignored Igarashi's question as to what she and Ookuma were doing together but instead got angry at him.

It is Igarashi's fault that he got blotto. Nobody forced the booze down his throat. It is nobody's fault but his own that he drank so much that he lost consciousness. Had he remained cognizant, then perhaps he would have been able to make his way home without the interferrence of his senpai and Subaru.

Exactly! And you don't spike your "friend's" drink with sake when he specifically says he's allergic to alcohol. Igarashi needs a whole new group of friends instead of these losers.

To be honest, I don't really care about Chiyo, or about her relationship with Igarashi, but I am curious how Subaru handles this situation.
