@Doomer Certainly there are expenses, but they are probably locally produced Mitsubishi missiles like the ones used on the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_F-2 - so facilities are probably brought along and imported parts (if any) will probably be on high priority to reverse engineer.
And Isekai Japan needs food, and allies to produce that food. Plus that overkill is high cost up front, but might be cheaper in the long run. (If it works, the intention is to simply overwhelm the opponents and make them believe they can't possibly win. This to avoid prolonged operations like Afghanistan or Vietnam. And if it doesn't work, then the fantasy allies will probably be the ones footing the bill in form of food and occupation forces)

@Serelanordir i'm no missile expert, i don't know every missile by heart so i'm just throwing out the 2 names i know. the point of it is just to show that modern military operations are EXTREMELY expensive and without the rest of the world to trade and supply them with new weaponry i really don't know how they plan to keep this up.

I tried to give this a chance. I picked this up way back then in hopes it could explore the implications of having an entire country isekai'ed. For a country like the size of Japan, it's would have enough for all sorts of amazing feats. But also small enough that it should face all sorts of struggle too. There's so much political ramifications. Societal upheavals. Logistical challenges. I really was hoping that I can be treated to exploration.
But it seems this is just a Japan dropped in a self-sufficient amount of oil and other materials. This is unfortunate but I guess I did saw the warning. Time for me to drop this.
Though I will periodically check on it. If nothing else, I think that mentioned of that super magic civilization could be a foreshadow to something interesting. Maybe later, that civilization will appear making a magic vs technology battle that faces each other as equals. But since that is likely dozens of chapters ahead but the even appear. I'll drop for now.

Just found this, really enjoyed it. Thank you @YukkuriOniisan for translating this! If you are doing the cleaning etc yourself and are busy, just forget the cleaning. Id be happy simply having it translated~ if someone else feels the need to do it they can. I hope you havnt dropped this, thank you for your hard work!

The Japanese builds their own arms and munitions under license, locally. Even the F-35s they've already begun taking delivery of, they are supposed to produce the last few batches in Japan. The cost to build any military arms in Japan is higher than it would be in the US however. The wages are higher in Japan and they do not maintain industries for producing military arms. Every time the Japanese government orders any military arms or munitions from their industry, production lines have to be established and it has to be custom made. Look at the history and cost of their Type 89 rifle to get an idea. $3000+ for an infantry rifle, in 1989. The US pays $750 for it's M4 carbines. Even the latest M27 rifle the Marine Corps ordered is only about $1300 per for the tiny order they made.

What are you talking about? The only weapons I've seen used are unguided M26 artillery rockets fired from their MLRS units last chapter and some 155mm artillery. Those old cluster munitions were considered inhumane and the Japanese declared they had destroyed their entire stockpile of something like 14,000 rounds of munitions and over 2 million submunitions back in 2015. Assuming Japan got isekai'd before they destroyed their old cold-war stockpiles, they probably have a few thousands rounds of M26 rockets available. They appear to have fired 36 last chapter.
Those old AH-1 Cobras can't fire Hellfire missiles. Those are older TOW missile system which the JSDF still have plenty of stock of from the cold war. Even the latest incarnation of the TOW-2 missile run about $85k (FY2019). The version they're using is probably one of the older models that ran about $15K-20K back in the late 80's. Those are pretty old 80's era anti-tank missiles and should not be a problem to build. In fact, it may actually be more of a problem trying to find people who built the last batch.
You have to remember, Japan is not a poor 3rd world military. They budgeted over $50 billion this year for military spending and they are capable of spending way more. Japan's GDP is the 3rd highest in the world, at a quarter of the US. They could spend up to $150+ Billion if they want to match the US percentage of defense spending by GDP.
