@permisan You're not wrong. But it is as the old man said. Gaoh is "pure" in a sense that he know nothing, so his personality will be created with who he meet, what he does, what he will discover. In the end it's like he is a child discovering the wolrd but with the power to kill.

Koga is way more colorful because he "lived" before.

Ohma was the same, he was able to live and develop an ego, a thing that Gaeoh still not have. He follow order to the letter of his "gramps" because he's been trained/raised like this.

So, what if Ryuuki was forbidden to use other techniques because he doesn't actually know Gaoh style? Gaoh Mukaku had developed a new style, why would he pass down something obsolete again? The "grandpa" might have seen Mukaku's fight before and teach Ryuuki imitation version of a few techniques, but using more than that would reveal it's fake.
