This first chapter had a few flags: For one the pacing and panel usage was quite... 'meh'.
Another thing is the forced contrast with the flower talking about him looking 'too smart for a normal mage' when he literally did nothing and looks plain.
Third, the abrupt ending of the chapter, even for just a part, maybe if it's three parts but otherwise it seems weird to break up the first chapter that's supposed to bring in an audience.

@Nakanowatari It's a manga adaptation of the LN. The artist of Mirai Nikki is handling the adaptation in manga form, the author of the LN isn't involved on that outside of supervision like any manga adaptation.

i don't see any dao or jian but i see the katana and a shit ton of european swords. there aren't even any western asian swords-no shamshir or kilij. someone needs to do their damn research if they want to talk about "legendary swords"..add some variety man and lay off your damn bias. the smallsword is the best dueling weapon because it's light and linear swordplay requires less predatory movements than cutting. whether its a rapier or a smallsword I wasn't sure in that scene but if its a smallsword i agree with that choice. if its a rapier..no. it's too heavy. broadswords, longswords, and the "katana" requires you to make huge movements for your cuts and it's just not made efficient enough for a thrusting weapon unlike the jian or the spadroon simply because of the balance. unless you're brawling those three types of weapons would lose to someone using a lighter sword. i really hate these damn manga where they always try to promote how the katana or the person using the katana is the almighty fencer. the katana is a nice weapon but ..you have to know a thing or too about practical bladework man. to be fair though i think the mc and some others were using variations of a spadroon but the chinese straigh sword should've been in that top 7. it doesn't do china's 5k year of history any justice espcially when the japanese sword is a refined version of the tang dynasty sword that made its way to korea and japan.

@nfzeta if im correct, in the raws she says "on the contrary, you're too nervous. " so no jerking off mc at least not yet

@ultraleaf @karoto94 the flower isn't the girl that is walking next to him. on page 10 he isn't talking about transformation magic, but is instead noting that his nervousness shows on his face and he has to be careful as a response to flower observation. the girl also scolds the flower. hence the reason oliver asks if she's used to those flowers (transforming into it is a mistranslation). her last line is also referring to the flower about how it's the first time she's seen one that speaks so well. hope that provides some clarity and crossing my fingers that not wrong
