Thank you so much for this! The quality of your scans and redraw n sfx is so good! Thank you again!

Thanks for your translation! I always re-read it anyway since it often flows smoother and highlights a bit more nuance.

It is also nice to know "it's not just based on prejudice" isn't a mistranslation... I wonder what it means

eh people can be manipulated or change sides too, so that makes that perspective null

@cloudstrifer
I think it means that the knight is just not following a belief that summoners are bad and maybe has a personal reason
Ahhhhh, yeah makes a lot of sense.

Semantically I'm quite sure its still prejudice though ;P

But your clarification in regards to the story is illuminating :)

That argument is pathetic. By that train of thought, a noble with soldiers serving under them is inherently dangerous and less than human. Which includes that knight guy himself. Really, illogical.

Okay, he better explain his beef, because he's mostly just acting like an asshole at the moment. His argument starts and ends at "summoned creatures are different from humans", which isn't that different from being nervous around animals.
Calling summoners not humans is just prejudice and being a dick.

"Hurting without dirtying your hands" is a bad argument because there's a ton of ways to do that without a magical contract with a mystical creature. Calling it dangerous is kinda fair, except knights and mages all qualify too.

It doesn't seem to be a family thing since his cute cousin seemed to really like summoning. Hmm...

@Nogoodimaginativename Yup, @cloudstrifer basically said it! It’s definitely still prejudice, even if the reason is different (whether it’s “baseless” or not) but the original raw said that, so… pretty sure it’s the author’s strange phrasing, since I checked with two different translators. ^^’ I wrestled a lot with how to phrase it, but… yeah. I ended up going with the raw. Sorry about that confusion!

so basically there’s a chance these different beings can hurt us so they’re untrustworthy. but this fear still stands within humans too as there are power differences & classes within humans too and ppl like that guy himself—powerful nobles— can easily and OFTEN do the same thing that he is afraid of (betraying & murdering innocents).

Fear of the unknown.
But just like how a summoner can be used as a weapon, so can a royal knight.
Both can also be used as shields.

Still, I feel like I like the guy. He's more straightforward than I thought, even if he's butting into his sister's private business.

by that logic, swordsman also doesn't need to dirty their hands. it's their sword that's dirty. 😐
and really, humans are so much more fickle and betrayal-prone than beasts. 😔

Yeah, I'm sorry. That's still prejudice. Prejudiced people always believe they aren't prejudiced because they think their reason for their view is valid. It doesn't change a thing.

Ugh, he's such a twat. Throw the black bunny to freeze his redheaded ass and call it a day.
