@Darkllight I already have and I've consumed enough shounen trash to know that these kinds of ending suck major ass when the mangaka doesn't take any real risk and just plays it safe to not upset the fandom.

By not upsetting the fandom, mangaka is actually securing his future cow
Now he could keep milking the franchise by making a lot of spin-offs, or making a new manga that will guaranteed to have loyal readers (by riding his already-existed fan group)
Let this be a lesson to you: If you have somehow achieved immortality, try not attracting the ire of an organization hell bent on killing you. Keep a low profile may be, instead of kiling random people. And if you somehow end up being strong enough (in your prime) to destroy that organization, do it. Take the initiative, instead of sending your henchmen one by one until most of them are dead.
