It explains why she was wearing cute clothes on the date and all that, but the rest just seems kind of pointless IMO. Unless this is either an alternate universe in/universe or the first few chapters where they went on a date and started dating was a timeskip that happened after the kouhai asked Mememori

From what I can tell the chapters probably aren't in chronological order and vol 2 is probably around after ch 3 but before ch 4 @gouder @liquidsword

from this vol.2 it explained why MC has many girl clothes before on vol.1....
and if this happen when they already dating, the imouto should know by now...

Its a combination of the clothes, the character interactions, captions and partly because my mind usually reorders the series of events for me... mostly because I have so many books and manga that my brain got used to keeping track of the general flow of the story.

Also I remembered slightly wrong 3, 4 and 5 probably happen after ch 6 and vol 2 is the time between 6 to ch 3 with 7 mixed somewhere along the lines
