This is what make Luffy and his entire crew different than other Shounen character.
When they angry, didn't mean they really want to kill people, one solid punch was enough and their mood back like they never get angry to anyone at all.

when i started they were called zolo and ruffy, then hundreds of episodes in they changed, to zoro and luffy
