It's like the D&D campaign I'm in. A bunch of suckers fight like they can own anyone, get owned and revived constantly, pull through somehow, rinse and repeat. There are those cool moments and temporary wins, but then everyone close to the party will frigging die because there's a lot of scary beings out there who want them dead and will actively try to make it happen. And also there's definitely strong manipulation behind all this.
